Research Focus
One of my research foci is the measurement of quality of life, from both a conceptual and a measurement point of view. This has centered mainly around three groups; the elderly, children with epilepsy, and extremely low birth weight infants. It also involves using some of the newer techniques in measurement, such as Item Response Theory. A second focus is a longitudinal follow-up study of the extremely low birth weight children, whom we have been following for nearly 25 years. The third focus is on the epidemiology of psychological problems in the elder, primarily using the large data bases gathered by Statistics Canada.
